Who's behind this
Transalp Tours was born on a Transalp tour. We were on holiday together on our Transalps,
and we thought "this is too good to keep to ourselves".

Lilly
Born and raised on a farm, she compensated for the lack of horses at uni by getting into bikes. Has since ridden many types of bikes in many countries. Firm believer in "horses for courses" and that if a good thing doesn't exist yet, one should just make it happen.

Sailor at heart turned passionate biker, possibly helped by lack of water in proximity.

The TT Origin Story
Once upon a time, Mark and Lilly were due to go on a summer holiday, riding new-to-them, mid-90s sports bikes. Ever keen to learn, they booked a day of ADAC rider skills training on said bikes, at the end of which Mark declared that he would absolutely not be able to ride this torture-machine on a nine-day holiday and have a good time.
Fast forward 2 days and Mark has bought a cheap, old Transalp. Lilly rides said old Transalp around the block while no one is looking and questions her choices. 2 days later, Lilly finds cheap, old Transalp of her own. Awesome trip ensues. Decision is made to invite friends to join next time, and get a couple of Transalps for them, so they can fly in, and if we already have those, then we could... and here we are.
Our philosophy
Our philosophy
RELAXING RIDES

The thrill lies in our surrondings, not in wondering whether you'll make it through the next corner.
VALUE FOR MONEY

Anyone can put together an expensive tour. The art lies in putting together a low-cost tour that is nonetheless excellent.
GET OFF THE BIKE

A motorcycle tour does not have to mean being in the saddle all day. There's so much to do and see, we build in time to enjoy it.
NICE PEOPLE
No one wants to be stressed because someone is being difficult - not us, not our hosts, not your friends. As they say in South Africa, be lekker.
